The Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) received Dr. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, the Corps Commander in Osun, at its secretariat yesterday during the 7th Media Parley Edition in the state capital, Osogbo, on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Dr. Adekunle responded to inquiries from seasoned reporters by saying, "One of the security network's responsibilities is to combat insurgency in the state, rather than sitting down in office for paperwork."
Speaking about the hiring process, he barred that the security network is not a child play, Some people managed to understand the theory, but by the time we got to the actual practical, the nature of the job cannot be cheated, it was the pregnant people amongst who revealed their circumstances.
"Some women are good at handling weapons, mounting road blocks, arrest fellon, we trained them how they should enter the bush, I know that we are having the best, within timeframe result would come out.
He went on by saying, ''We all know that security is the business of government of the day, I love our trainees because they adjusted to standard. We made significant progress last year, and I'm sure many people are curious about the secret we employ to make so many arrests, he stated.
The police and I are working really well together, therefore, I would want to thank them. We meet every month at the governor's office in Abere.
The Western governors at the time took the initiative to establish Amontekun in order to carry out the duties of other security agencies, particularly the police.
"As our previous warriors, including Onikoyi, Obatala, Kunrunmi, and Ogunmola, have done in the past, Amontekun has inherited the traditional methods of protecting their people," he said.
